This roadmap-style article explores NeuroAI as a pathway to enhancing AI safety. It argues that human brains possess innate capabilities for flexible, cooperative, and robust behavior under novel conditions—abilities that current AI systems lack. The authors propose leveraging brain-inspired architectures, sensory motor integration, brain-data fine-tuning, and neuroscience-based interpretability methods to make AI systems more reliable and aligned with human values.
